Problem: This suction bell he been in brackish water for over ten years and had not been taken out for service. They couldn’t get a new suction bell in less than six months and the needed to be back up and running in two weeks.

Removing salts was a major priority in the fist step of this repair.

Here we are showing you a technique we use in the shop to fill voids and using Belzona 1111

Finally we applied two coats of Belzona 1331 for a perfect finish.

Application Situation

This application had a repair cost of less than $3,000.00 saving this customer around $20,000.00. We had the suction bell back to the customer in less than a week saving the customer up to 4 months of down time.

Application Method

We washed the suction bell with Salt-Away to remove the salts absorbed in the metal to achieve a 20pm or less. Once that was achieved we rebuilt and skimmed all pitted areas with Belzona 1111. Then we applied two coats of Belzona 1331.
