Problem: This damaged step was proving rather dangerous as there was a large volume of pedestrian traffic in the area.

Application Situation

An overhanging step in the centre of Brisbane had become worn and caused broken and loose concrete to cause a trip hazard.

Application Method

The application was carried out in accordance with Belzona System Leaflet FPA-5. Initially, the broken step was demolished, before rebar was drilled and inserted to provide additional strength. The area was correctly prepared and Belzona 4111 was applied into the specially-constructed form-work.

Belzona Facts

The client was familiar with Belzona from other similar repairs and understood the benefits of the concrete repair materials over their traditional counterparts. In fact, the repair only took one day to complete, with the former removed the following day, allowing the step to be available to pedestrians very quickly.
