Problem: The new water treatment facility had four rooms with secondary containment areas for storing chemicals that was required to have protecting coating to prevent the area against corrosion.

Application Situation

The assist owner wanted to protect the new concrete from chemicals attacking the concrete from corrosion. The areas needed protection from Sodium Hypochlorite and Sodium Bisulphite.

Application Method

All concrete was ground using a grinder with a diamond Disc, all dust was vacuumed and area cleaned by using Belzona 9111, A mositsure test was performed to check the mositsure level content, it was below the 6% that is recommended. Three rooms required Belzona 4911 Magma Conditioner and Belzona 4311 Magma CR1 coating, the forth room required protection using Belzona 5811.

Application was specified by the Design Engineering Company and the support of Belzona, the application was performed by a coating sub-contractor with the support from the local Technical Consultant.
