Concrete Leak Seal in Hospital Parking Garage Causing Grease Leakage onto Physician's Vehicle

Problem: In the prominent medical center of Houston, TX, one Hospital facility has an underground parking garage below one of the building towers on their campus. The garage is used by everyone from patients to employees. One location in the garage, has a crack in the ceiling, that has grease dripping through it. It happened to fall right onto a Physicians vehicle in a reserved parking spot. This caused an issue between the Physician and Hospital, and needed immediate repair.

Application Situation
The Belzona solution provided a quick leak sealing repair for the valued customer. This saved them from the cost of a potential lawsuit. Also, the smell was terrible in the garage from the old grease dripping through the crack, and the leak left stains on the ground creating a slip trip and fall hazard. The customer leans to use Belzona for repairs like this when they are unique leak sealing applications and they need a quick cost effective repair.
Application Method
1. We hung sheets of poly and taped them to the ceiling & floor to create a containment. This protected cars in the garage and helped with cleanup.
2. We used a hand held grinder with 4.5" turbo cup diamond grinding bit to prep the concrete. The grinder had a dust collection attachment to help lower dust in the working area.
3. During prep, the slow dribble leak become more constant. Belzona 9611 was used to plug active leaks. Belzona 1212 was used to rebuild and seal.
4. Belzona 3121 and 9331 were applied in 6" wide sheets to patch the cracks and joint at the perimeter of the ceiling area.
5. Belzona 3121 and 9331 were applied onto the entire ceiling area.
