Problem: Pumps work 24/7 to provide drinking water for residents; the 5 years of operations cause the pump to deteoriate, creating surface pitting and corrosion, so we recommended Belzona 1341 NSF grade to provide the necassary protection for the pump against the corrosion/erosion effects and at the same time drinking water grade approved. Customer is happy with the performance, as pervious pumps stayed for 5 years.

Application Situation
The pumps have been in operation for around 10 years; the pumps are still new. Since the beginning, we proactively coated those pumps, which stayed in service for 5 years of operation 24/7, and now we are doing them for an extra 5 years as preventive maintenance. The customer was able to keep his pumps protected, saving cost of power all the way due to the hydrophobic features of the Belzona 1341
Application Method
We Grit blasted the surface to reach near white metal and 75 um microns as recommended by Belzona IFU. We made sure the salt level over the surface was very minimal, and we rebuilt the pitting with Belzona 1111, sweep blast, then 2 coat systems of 1341 at 250 um each to reach a total of 500 um avergae.
