Application Situation

The reason customers like to coat their hydro turbines with Belzona 1341 (Supermetalglide) is this hydrophobic coating increases revenue from the output of the turbine. We all know you only get one shot at the water coming through the gate. We can set the turbine at its lowest possible setting and generate more power (revenue) than higher settings.
The coating (labor & material) was paid for in three months. After that….pure profit for the utility company.

Application Method

This turbine was grit blasted to SSPC SP10 and then two coats of Belzona 1341 (Supermetalglide).

Belzona Facts

This unit provided complete payback within three months due to the increase in efficiency gained.
Henry Ford built this facility in the 1920's. He had built a factory there and this hydro provided the electricity to that facility.
