Application Situation

The asset owner required a weld joint on the city water tower S/S filling pipe to be repaired without performing hot work and also required a NSF approved product.

Application Method

Preparation was completed in-way of using a grinder with a 80 grit sanding pad, than cleaned with Belzona 9111. Next the Belzona 1111 repair composite was mixed and applied well into the preferred area. Using a piece of Belzona 9341 Reinforcing cloth was wetted out and applied over the repair area with a further layer of Belzona 1111 until the cloth was covered.

Sub-Contractor contacted Belzona Great Lakes to discuss solutions the BGL would suggest to be used for this type of repair and also mentioned that a approved NSF-61 product was required.
