Problem: This propeller had seen years of pumping water out of a slough due to high water during rain or Beaver dams backing the water up. The propeller had seen water, tree limbs and rock that caused the damage.

This picture is of the damaged propeller.

Once we cleaned and grit blasted the propeller we started making the repairs using Belzona 1111.

This is after repairs were made and the application of the first coat of Belzona 1321.

In this picture you have the completion of the repairs and coating using Belzona Super Metal 1111 for the repairs and Belzona 1321 Ceramic Coating.

Application Situation
This propeller is obsolete and the client had no other option than to repair unless they changed the entire pump out. They didn’t have the opportunity to replace the pump due to high water coming in and they had to pump it out to keep from a road flooding. The cost of not making the repair could have been very costly if the pump didn’t work and the road had flooded.
Application Method
We cleaned the propeller using 100% MEK followed by grit blasting to a 3 mil profile. We used the provide tools from Belzona to apply the Belzona 1111 and a stiff brush to apply the Belzona 1321.
Belzona Facts
The cost savings was determined to be upwards of $100,000 if the pump had not worked and the road had flooded. The repair of this propeller was only $1,500.00
