Problem: Customer was suffering severe internal corrosion within their process plants pillenium & re-circulation channels.
This was due to high concentrations of Calcium Oxide (37%) and Chlorine (26%) operating at temperatures of 140 Deg. C.

Internal through hole defect.

Application Situation

The customer chose a Belzona solution as replacement cost and actual downtime was very expensive.

The Belzona solution offered a cost effective solution whilst also offering longer life expectancy of the equipment.

Application Method

The preparation was carried out by grit blasting to Belzona’s IFU Specification sheets for the products.

Where required, plates where bonded into place on through hole defects where required using a Belzona paste grade.
Belzona 1593 was then applied to the repaired areas.

The Belzona repair solution/method was chosen by the customer due:
1) Fast turnaround offering faster return to service.
2) Cost was significantly less that total replacement.
3) Reduced lost production time and costs.
