Problem: The inner material of the pipe has degraded because wastewater is corrosive. They attempted to stop the leak caused by the metal loss by conventionally welding a metal plate. Because the water could find openings to escape, this approach didn't work.

Application Situation

The establishment must run around the clock. Since it is the primary station that transports Attica regions' wastewater to the wastewater treatment plant, the repair must be finished without halting pump operation. The best way to save time and money was to use Belzona cold-applied products.

Application Method

Surface was prepared with mechanical tools then cleaned. A first layer of Belzona 1161 was applied, Belzona 1161 was then applied to both sides of Belzona 9341 reinforcement tape, which was used to increase the strength of the repair. A further layer of Belzona 1161 was then applied and finally it was encapsulated with Belzona 5892.
