Problem: Spill of 98% sulfuric acid was neutralized with caustic. The exotherm badly damaged the coating applied 2 years previous.

Application Situation
Secondary containment area for 98% Sulfuric acid
Application Method
Application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflets TCC-9 & -15.
Damage concrete removed and 3 inch of new concrete poured to level base.
Belzona® 4181 used on floor and Belzona® 4311 on walls.
Belzona Facts
The plant had used Belzona® 4311 successfully in several areas of the plant. Due to the high temperature qualities of Belzona® 4181 it was selected to coat the containment floor in case caustic was again used to neutralize spills.
