Problem: The Customer requested an erosion-resistant coating for a new kort nozzle installed in place of an old kort nozzle.

New kort nozzle on a tugboat.
Application Method
The applicaiton was carried out in accordance with a modified version of Belzona Know-How System Leaflet SOS-2. The nozzles, arms, lower pod and up the neck area were abrasive blasted. Belzona 1311 was applied to the various areas to cover the welds and sharp edges along the strut arms and areas up the neck. Belzona 1321 was applied to the entire drive unit an nozzle in two coats.

The Customer chose Belzona to protect the kort nozzles because they had had previous kort nozzles protected with Belzona products that are still in operation after 5+ years in a harsh abrasive environment.
