Application Situation

Leaking corner weld on an active transformer.

Application Method

The surface was prepared using a coarse grit grinding wheel. The Belzona 1161 was applied according to the Instructions For Use. Application was carried out in accordance with a modified version of Belzona Know-How System Leaflet TCC-1.

Belzona Facts

The repair needed to be made without taking the transformer off-line which uses excessive labor and resources and results in money loss from not operating. Belzona 1161 allows for potential oil or water residue on the surface at the time of application which is necessary when trying to repair transformer oil leaks with it still being online.
