Problema: External corrosion had led to severe wall thinning in numerous parts of the pipework. In addition several areas were holed and were being contained with a temporary fix. The welded nature of the pipework would have made replacement of the pipespool impossible as the vent gas pipework forms part of the platform’s safety system.

Método de aplicação
During a recent platform shutdown the temporary repair was removed and the pipe and surrounding areas were cleaned by grit blasting. Belzona® 1111 was applied to the area and Belzona® 9341 wrapped around the pipe to prevent further deterioration of the corroded area.
Fatos Belzona
This was pressure tested to the design pressure of the system before allowing gas back into the system.All tests were successfully completed.
