Problem: Customer had issues with pump housing getting severely eroded in service.

Damaged pump housing.

Pump housing abrasive blasted and Belzona paste grade metal utilised to repair erosion.

First coat of Belzona 1321 applied.

Pump housing complete with final coat of Belzona 1321.

Application Situation

Due to the damage of the pump housing, repair was required urgently with a lead time on a new pump been quite long. A Belzona repaired offered a fair quicker long term repair solution with a 1-2 week lead time.

Application Method

Pump housing was abrasive blasted to a S.A 2.5 standard (75 micron) profile before all eroded sections been rebuilt with Belzona 1311 paste grade metal. There after 2 coats of Belzona 1321 was applied for long term protection against erosion.

Belzona Facts

A new pump housing outweighed the cost of a Belzona solution 5 fold with a much longer lead time. The customer was not willing to place an order, whilst not having a spare pump. Having experience with Belzona's capabilities in the past on similar application areas, they trusted and understood that this was the best for feasible solution.
