Problem: A large crack had formed in a pipe spool. This pipe was located deep within a reservoir sump & was impossible to remove without major structural works. A repair had to be put in place in-situ to prevent further leakage & to reinforce the area.

The leaking spool was built into the concrete sump wall - this went directly out to the reservoir.

Application Situation
Using the Belzona option meant the pipe could remain in place. It was isolated for the duration of the works & cure.
Application Method
The area was first grit blasted to SA2.5 & 75 microns. Belzona 1212 was then applied to any cracked areas. Four layers of Belzona SuperWrap II were then applied & consolidated using Belzona 9382.
Belzona Facts
Belzona 1212 carried the WRAS approval required for water contact. Using the SuperWrap II system imparted additional strength to the pipe to reduce the chances of further cracking.
