Problem: Our client's fiberglass tank had a few small hairline cracks where the chemical aluminum sulfate would seep out. They had an inspection report done and it was found they needed repairs.

Application Situation

Our customer needed a product that would repair the damage and protect it for future use. Belzona provided a simple option that could be done in place when the tank was down. We were able to complete the repairs in 2 days.

Application Method

First, the areas for repair were sandblasted for a roughened profile. We then sanded and grinded areas that were chipping or needed to be feathered in. Belzona 1111 was applied with reinforcement cloth to areas that were thin and in some areas we did a cold plate bond over any voids. We then overlaid those areas and tank seams with Belzona 5815 and composite reinforcement cloth.
