Problem: This cooling water pump had severe pitting and the customer wanted to replace it, however the lead time was over 6 months. I talked to the customer about letting us blast, pitfill and coat this one. They were in a bind because they only had a 5 day window to get this pump back in service or they would have to shut down the plant.

Application Situation

The customer had to have this pump back in service asap or they would have to shutdown the entire plant, costing millions in lost revenue. The Belzona to repair this pump was approx 10K in product. a new pump was over 100K and 6 months out.

Application Method

We had the pump delivered to our shop and blasted it to bare metal. Used 1121 to fill the pitting and then 2 coats of 1341

The Belzona repair was a 1/10th of the cost of a new pump.
