Problem: The welds on the log ladder were wearing away, and any protective coating was too smooth causing interference to the laser system monitoring the equipment.

Steel grit blasted at welds that would frequently wear away.

Application Situation

The use of Belzona 1818 allowed for fast curing and provided wear resistance protecting the welds of the log ladder. The colour and roughness of Belzona 1818 also allowed the laser system to monitor the feed of logs to work properly.

Application Method

The steel was grit blasted and Belzona 1818 was mixed and applied, with thick coverage, to protect from wear.

Belzona Facts

The Belzona 1818 was found to still be protecting and in excellent condition 7 months after the application.
