Problem: the impeller had a worn blade that needed to be rebuilt following years being in service. They also wanted to coat it for future protection.

Application Situation

The cost to replace the impeller exceeded the price to repair. Our client was a first time user and this was a great alternative.

Application Method

First, we cut a piece of a belzona mixing board and duct taped it to the back of the impeller blade.
We then applied Belzona 1111 to the missing area and onto the existing metal by about an inch.
Once cured, we removed the former and applied More Belzona 1111 to build up and engrained reinforcement cloth.
While mostly cured but still soft, we sanded some areas lightly to contour.
After curing, we applied 2 coats of Belzona 1321.

Belzona offered the chance to repair the pump and to do it quickly. As a first time user, they are excited to use on more pumps.
