Problem: Acids were leaking into the bund at several entry points. These were breaking down the existing coating & leading to damage in the concrete substrate.

Application Situation

By replacing the existing coating with a highly chemical resistant Belzona material long term protection of the bund could be assured even if there were chemical spillages within the bund.

Application Method

The area was prepared by washing down & mechanical abrasion. Belzona 4911 was then applied followed by two coats of Belzona 4311 CR1.

Belzona Facts

The bund was located underground with limited ventilation, by using solvent free Belzona materials minimal hazards were to posed to the applicators during the application. The chemical resistance of Belzona 4311 will provide long term protection for the bund structure.
