Application Situation

We were first approached by a customer to solve this problem in 2000. The pump mixes very aggressive media (a mixture of BTX 20%, Ethylene glycol 40% and N-methylpyrrolidone 40%) at temperatures exceeding 73°C. Several competing protective materials failed. After testing several Belzona products, Belzona 4111 and 4331 proved to be the best and most durable solution.

Application Method

Blasting of individual parts, chemical cleaning, sealing of affected parts with Belzona 4111, application of Belzona 4331 coating, and finally we also implemented an external protective coating.

Belzona Facts

By applying Belzona products, we have extended the pump's operating cycle several times and increased its efficiency by eliminating pitting corrosion. Thanks to a successful repair, this pump protection is carried out at regular intervals.
