Problem: A capstan used for hauling mooring ropes was over coiling due to an insufficient chamfer. Build up using weld overlay would be prohibitively expensive & time consuming within the timeframe available.

Build up of Belzona 1111

Application Situation
Using the Belzona solution meant the capstans could be rebuilt without possible heat distortion of the substrate
Application Method
The capstans were grit blasted to SA2.5 & minimum 75 microns. Belzona 1111 was then used to build a larger chamfer.
Belzona Facts
Belzona 1111's compressive strength was an important consideration in selection for the client.
