Both units after coating application.
Application Situation
The customer left these units untreated and unprotected for many years, resulting in significant deterioration. The rust needed to be removed, and coating was required to protect and extend the life of these units.
Application Method
All the rusty areas were scrapped and removed with a putty knife followed by power tool cleaning. Then two coats of Belzona 5831 were applied. The system was allowed to cure for 2 days before being put back in service.
Belzona Facts
The surface-tolerant properties of Belzona 5831 were essential for this application. There was significant moisture and condensation on the surface, making it impossible to fully dry, and the substrate was so deteriorated that achieving ideal surface preparation was challenging.
