Problem: Our client was experiencing significant deterioration and wear on an outdoor chemical containment. They were looking for a coating to protect the containment for the future.

Blasted and Prepared Containment

Base Coat Used was Belzona 5811

First coat of Belzona 4311 Applied

2nd and Final Coat of Belzona 4311 Applied Incorporating Aluminum Oxide for a nonskid finish

Application Situation
Belzona offered a protection of their outdoor containment and regular loading/unloading of chemicals within. Our client had used this product before in other containments and a nearby sump and it worked out really well.
Application Method
We sandblasted the existing coating. We then addressed concrete damage with Belzona 4111. There were some cracks that also needed to be addressed and we selected 4361 as the answer with cloth to bridge those cracks. We then applied 1 coat of Belzona 5811 as a primer and followed with (2) coats of Belzona 4311 to protect it from sulfuric acid and caustic soda.
Belzona Facts
They have seen this product work well at their plant and in service and wanted to extend the use in other facilities.
