Application Situation
The situation was quite difficult, in that the Estates had been tasked with stopping all the leaks into the busy offices and boardroom below. This was in the middle of the winter and, whilst we discussed the possibility of carrying out the work in the better weather, it was really important to find a solution to the situation straight away. Belzona 3131 Winter Grade was offered, along with the services of a very experienced contractor.
It was decided that the application would go ahead and this was carried out in the last 2 weeks of January and the first 2 weeks of February
Application Method
All the chippings were removed from the roof and lowered to skips below
The area was washed down using high pressure water
Amounts of Belzona 3921/3931 were used in areas where heavy problems were identified, along with non-porous application areas
The first coat of Belzona 3131 was applied and Belzona 9361 was applied into the surface, along with Belzona 9351 for areas needing extra elasticity
A second coat of Belzona 3131 was applied within the overcoat window,

The important issue was to achieve an effective repair to the roof as an immediate solution. The weather and time of year was an obvious issue, but the Belzona 3131 Winter Grade performed brilliantly and is still showing no signs of deterioration 5 years later
