Problem: Due to severe corrosion and erosion, the tube sheet and lid were damaged.

Heavily damaged exchanger cover

The repair was done using cork plugs.

Repaired and protected cover.

Application Situation

The oil cooler used for many years became inefficient due to damage.

Application Method

Surface blasting to the required Sa 2.5 standard with a minimum 75 μm profile. Plugging the ends of coolers with cork plugs. Filling the tube sheet and cover of the cooler with Belzona 1111 Super Metal. Drilling out the plugs + blasting. Application of Belzona 1341 (2 x) in a total thickness of 500 μm.
