Problem: Corrosion due to salt water environment on end plates of plate heat exchangers.

Areas to be rebuilt/coated were checked for chlorides, chlorides were neutralized to acceptable levels, units were blasted and profile checked as per product manufactures recommendations.

Application of 1511 to fill in pitted and corroded areas prior to coating.

Application Situation
Vessel was in dry dock and time is money as every additional day in dry dock cost the vessel owner money. The Belzona option offered a more cost and time effective solution over welding and machining.
Application Method
Repair areas were abrasive blasted, and chlorides were checked and neutralized to acceptable levels prior application of Belzona 1511/1593 System
