Problem: Existing rubber lining was in need of replacement. Belzona was chosen to repair divider bar and reline waterbox and tubesheet. 1311 was used for repair work and 1331 was chosen as the lining. Joints between waterbox and cover/tubesheet were sealed with 2111 and 2141.

Inspections after 6 years showed no signs of corrosion. The Belzona products were in excellent shape.

Application Situation

This nuclear facility was looking for a long term solution for corrosion protection in their raw sea water heat exchanger.

Application Method

Steel was abrasive blasted to SSPC SP10. Divider bar was repaired using a Belzona Applicator and a former. Lining was stripe coated by brush and two full coats applied by spray.
