Problem: Lack of lubrication had caused abrasion in the bush housing, which led to a diameter increase of 30 mm from the original dimension. This meant a loose fitting bucket pin and unstable use of the equipment.

Application Situation
At a separation mine, one of the large Caterpillar 980 Wheel Loaders was suffering pin housing damage due to lack of lubrication.
Application Method
Application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System leaflet MPT-8. The surface was prepared by grinding and a new bush was bonded into place using Belzona 1111. Other bushing was in a good condition. In order to ensure the bushes were in correct alignment a dummy shaft was used to locate the bushing.
Belzona Facts
The application was completed in four hours and through the use of cold-curing materials, involved no heat. This method shortened the downtime of the machine and the repair was performed in situ without dismantling or machining of the frame.
