Problem: A wastewater site with typical glass-infused steel panel tanks were experiencing leaks due to internal chemical attack and environmental exposure, resulting in localised through-wall defects and seam failures.

For added protection, all affected areas were then coated with Belzona 3131

Application Situation

Due to service restraints, internal access wasn’t granted and all works had to be completed externally while remaining in service. Several of the tanks were repaired whilst remaining in service

Application Method

To restore integrity, all identified areas were thoroughly cleaned and prepared before cold bonding Belzona SuperWrap II composite plates to all defects using Belzona 1111.

Belzona 1111 was also applied to areas of concern along the seam lines to bring back to their original profile.

For added protection, all affected areas were then coated with Belzona 3131, restoring performance and extending service life.
