Application Situation

After a long time and due to aggressive chemicals from crude oil, the bottom of the tank was damaged. There was even a hole in the tank.

Application Method

Surface blasting to Sa 2.5 with a profile of 75 μm up to the height of 1/3 of the shell.
Surface degreasing. Bonding of a metal plate to the bottom of the tank under the heating body (leakage at the bottom of the tank) with Belzona 1111.
Application of the product Belzona 5892 in a thickness of approx. 500 µm. Hardening of the material - by additional heating.

Belzona Facts

Repair by welding would take a long time and the surrounding material would be thermally affected. The Belzona system led to a quick and high-quality repair.
