Belzona Facts
The sheer size of the vessel (35.6 m (117 ft) long x 3.6 m (11’9”) ID) required a dedicated team from Belzona to train and validate the application contractor, provide field support with a coating inspector and a bilingual project supervisor. The lining project was successfully completed in March 2014 to the required specification and schedule agreed with the client. In the future such projects will be completed with Belzona 1593, which offers significant benefits in application ease. In November 2020, the vessel was inspected by engineers and the coating was found to be in excellent condition apart from some small defects to the top coat. A small number of remedial repairs were undertaken which amounted to 4 units of Belzona 1593 and the vessel was put back into service until the next inspection interval in 6 years.
