Problem: The concrete around the handrail posts was badly spalled. Some of the damage was from a combination of environmental (freeze thaw effect) and proximity of the concrete to the clarifier tanks.

Application Situation
Concrete around handrail posts at a Water Treatment Plant.
Application Method
The application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflet FPA-10 for fixing or securing anchor bolts or handrails. A grinder was used to prepare the surface and any loose concrete was removed. Belzona 4911 was applied to the prepared surface using a stiff bristle brush. Belzona 4131 was applied in accordance with Belzona Instructions For Use.

Belzona 4131 has a high performance non-porous resurfacing material that provides excellent protection against the effects of abrasion, impact, vibration, chemical attack, outstanding environmental protection and is impermeable to water. Belzona 4131 is easily applied using a trowel, thus, no specialist tools are required.
