Application Situation
The customer's absorber out for annual maintenance and inspection for possible Belzona protection.
Application Method
The application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflet GSS-1 using Belzona 2131. After preparing the surface, tape was used to form a channel to apply Belzona 2131 to the proper thickness and stoppers were inserted into the bolt holes. Belzona 9411 was used for the corks inserted into the bolt holes.
Belzona Facts
Belzona was chosen as the solution to this problem as the machine was showing signs of erosion and corrosion and the gasket surfaces were very uneven, making it difficult, if not impossible, to ensure a water tight seal. The permanently bonded Belzona gasket will alleviate this ongoing maintenance "headache".
