Application Situation

After prolonged operation, the bearing housing began to vibrate and lost its prescribed geometry. If it were to continue operating, there was a risk of damage to the entire gearbox.

Application Method

The gearbox bearing housing was bored using a mobile boring machine with a VHU boring head. The hole was undercut both in front of and behind the central lubrication groove, which served as a reference plane for centering. The undercut was done using a forged thread cutter. The housing was degreased. Belzona 1111 was then applied. After curing, the Belzona was machined to the final dimension with +0.01.
