Problem: Our client was experiencing multiple leaks from seams on these concrete 4 sided water basins (pools) on top of a large cooling tower.

Application Situation

Our client had experienced leaks with his cooling tower water basins. They were very old and due for a sealing to keep them from leaking. Belzona offered a solution of using 3121 and cloth to reinforce these seams.

Application Method

We first cleaned the existing joints and removed peeling material or debris. We proceeded to fill in gap areas with backer rod when needed and then applied a concrete material. (Belzona 4111 was overbudget in this case.)

We then applied 1 layer of 3121 and laid the reinforcement cloth engrained followed by a second coat of 1321.

Our customer had used us before on sealing seams that were leaking elsewhere. He wanted to address the existing water basins and seal them. Belzona 3121 offered a great, flexible, barrier coating to address the leaks.
