Belzona 5811 Stops Corrosion in Waste Treatment System

Problem: The State of Ohio tried a steel septic tank instead of concrete at one of their rest areas and were met with severe corrosion. Ohio specified Belzona 5811 (Immersion Grade) to coat the interior instead of replacing the tank with a concrete one.

Application Situation
This stand alone waste treatment system in Southern Ohio was seeing typical corrosion. The State of Ohio had tried to use steel tanks instead of the tried and true concrete tanks. Belzona 5811 (Immersion Grade) was specified by the State of Ohio for this application.
Application Method
Grit blasting was the preferred surface prep method followed by flooding with Belzona 9111 (Cleaner/Degreaser). Belzona 1111 (Super Metal) was used to stripe the weld seams followed by two 10-mil coats of Belzona 5811 (Immersion Grade)
