Problem: Installation of five 12"x12" pipe supports on top of a newly rubber-lined Sulphuric Acid (H2SO4) tank.
Application Situation
Pipe supports on top of a Chemical Storage Tank within a Petrochemical facility.
Application Method
The five support areas were ground to SSPC-SP11 cleanliness and a 75 microns profile, prior to the Belzona 7311 being applied at the recommended 2mm thickness onto the tank roof and pipe support. The application was carried out in accordance with Belzona System Leaflet TCC-06.
Belzona Facts
Welding was not an option as it would have burned the internal tank lining. The Customer was very impressed with the ease of application and performance of Belzona 7311, successfully winning the Distributor a couple more pipe support bonding applications.
