Problème: The client had used weld overlay in the past to build up the worn dredge pumps once they hit their limit. This was a slow, expensive, and inconvenient process due to having to ship them to FL to have the exotic metal welded.

Cas d'application

Belzona was a cheaper and faster alternative to the weld overlay of the exotic Ni-Hard metal overlay. Taking 3 days to complete vs 2 weeks. This allowed the client to stop from shipping the pump across the country and also get it back in service in 1/4 of the time

Pump was brought to the shop
SP10 minimum 3-mil blast
"Priming" coat of 1331 was applied to help with increasing shear adhesion of the 1814
1/4" of 1814 applied to the entire pump internals.

The client wanted to find a faster way of protecting their dredge pumps vs weld overlay. Belzona became the solution with excellent documented testing on abrasion and a fast turnaround time to get the equipment back online and running.
