Problem: Ground water clarifier nozzle and parts on the tank close to it were leaking and required stemming the leak and repairing the eroded parts.

Application Situation

Customer wanted a fast repair to stem the leak from the nozzle of a ground water clarifier and repair the eroded parts on the tank without shut down as area was classified as confined space. Belzona was able to stem the leak, rebuild / repair the eroded parts without shutting down the clarifier, thereby saving customer time and money.

Application Method

Repair area was cleaned using power tool according to the SSPC SP 11 guidelines with solvent cleaning afterwards. After drying, Belzona 1161 was impregnated into the surface using a short bristled brush before the mesh Belzona 9341 was wetted with the material and wrapped round the area. More Belzona 1161 was applied to fully encapsulate the mesh. Belzona 5831 was applied afterwards to help against ingress of moisture and water.
