Problem: This tank was experiencing corrosion issue due to failed CUI. Areas had failed and water and contaminants came into contact with the steel tank and severe corrosion was occurring. 6 through holes were found

Application Situation

The tank was leaking 50% Caustic Soda and was causing environmental concerns

Application Method

All problems areas were located and sandblasted.
All leaks were stemmed using Belzona 9611 / 1221. Plates were bonded in place using Belzona 1111 Super Metal and then coated using Belzona 5811 immersion Grade.

Entering the tank internally caused many safety issues. Belzona is widely used on the site and the customer was familiar with our approach and had completed similar repairs in the past
