Coating of two fabricated bunds for Sulphuric Acid

Problem: The customer wanted their newly fabricated mild steel tank and lead lined tank coated for protection against sulphuric acid.
Application Situation
This application was part of a wider project, therefore the brand new assets needed to be protected.
Application Method
Identify area for coating and clarify areas not for coating (sealing faces, internal of tank etc). Protect areas not for blasting using blast tape. Surface preparation will be carried out by grit blasting, within our state of the art blasting booth. Once the steel substrate has been prepared to a standard of minimum surface profile of 75μm and a surface cleanliness of SA 2½, our technicians will then brush apply a 2 coats system of Belzona® 4341 at a target thickness of 400μm per coat. When complete a full inspection will be carried out.
