Problem: Infiltration of Perlite dust into the blower system causing very quick abrasive damage to blower fins.

Worn blower, about half way through its usual lifespan, makeshift balancing bolts.

Blasted fan with 1311 reinforcing welds and filling holes and pits

2 coats of 1321 on inside and all fins + welds. 2 colors as a wear indicator for inspection

Application Situation

These blowers were wearing quickly and often outpaced the scheduled maintenance period. Required unscheduled downtime in as little as 3 months use.

Application Method

Blower was grit blasted, plastic tool filling, brush applied coating. Baked in oven at 40C for quick return to service.

Belzona Facts

Very fine abrasive action from the perlite dust required something able to withstand the effects. Alternative is replacement for a blower that will wear just as quickly and costs about 5000$ CAD.
