Application Situation
A galvanised flashing was installed to try and alleviate the leak issues which were problematic in work areas below. Silicon had been tried and failed, and other attempts couldn't solve the problem either, which lead the client to require a full flexible membrane coating to be applied.
Application Method
The galvanised steel was cleaned and degreased, prior to having 1 coat of Belzona 3921 General Surface Conditioner applied.
2 coats of Belzona 3131 were applied with a layer of Belzona 9361 reinforcing sheet to give it additional strength.
Belzona Facts
Other methods of sealing the gap in the installed flashing were attempted, but all failed. It was a simple decision after 4 failed attempts to use Belzona 3131 Winter Grade to carry out a full, robust repair.
