Problem: Through wall defects had appeared in the low pressure steam system. These defects were around flanges & tee pieces. The geometry meant traditional repair methods would be very challenging. The thin wall of the pipe ducting meant welding was out of the question.

This system runs at partial vacuum pressures so the leaks were sucking in air & causing the pressure to rise - this was affected production. A system was required to seal these leaks in a 24 hour shutdown period.

A x4 wrap system was used for the repairs. The system was applied on a standard basis.
