Problem: Lack of structural integrity was the culprit for uneven, sagging floors in a local hospital resulting in failures in medical imaging equipment.

X-ray machine's weight is visibly not supported properly causing bowing of the floor underneath

Flooring was removed to reveal uneven substrate

Steel plate cold bonded to concrete

Transitions formed from steal plate to laminate with wall cove base reinstalled

Application Situation
The solution required reinforcement of the concrete subfloor while maintaining a glass like smoothness in the transition to maintain patient safety, ease of use and chiefly, the accuracy of the medical equipment.
Application Method
Upon preparation of the substrate one continuous steal plate was cold boned in place using Belzona composite. Belzona 4131 composite was troweled to transition the perimeter of the steel plate then over coated with Belzona 5231 safety flooring.

Environmental safety was a key factor for this application. The solution provided very little downtime. The floor defect will no longer present an issue. This solution is designed to last for the entire lifespan of the customer’s valuable medical equipment.
