Application Situation

A composite repair was carried out on a process vessel in the chemical industry using Belzona SuperWrap II. In order to prevent further leaks and to extend the life of the process vessel.

Application Method

Application carried out in accordance with a modified version of Belzona Know-How System Leaflet VPF-11. After blasting, the weak spots in the mantle are filled with the Belzona 1111 metal paste. Then the wrapping repair was carried out in at least 3 layers. The resin selected for this application is the Belzona 1983, because of the temperatures and the longer processing time. Belzona SuperWrap II is a composite repair that strengthens weaker metal structures on pipes and process vessels, mainly when applied on high-pressure systems.
