Application Situation
Deep pitting on the internal parts were causing poor performance with this pump.
Application Method
Grit blasting to prepare the surface according to the Belzona 1111 Instructions For Use. Then the Belzona 1111 was applied by hand using the Belzona applicator. Once cured, the application was hand sanded to the original profile and coated with two full coats of Belzona 1341N.
Belzona Facts
Replacement was not an option as this was an older pump. Replacement would involve a new model pump which would require additional work to get it to match up to the existing system. This repair was done in two days, and the pump was ready to be reassembled and put back into service. Inspection of the pump during routine maintenance three years later showed no further damage, and the pump has continued to run more efficiently than it had for several years prior.
