Problem: Customer had bored 1-1/2" holes when 5/8" was needed for bearing housing.

Pillow block with oversized bolt holes.

Holes filled with Belzona 1161 by injection.

Holes bored to correct size through the Belzona 1161.

Bearing casing fit-tested for installation.

Application Situation

Belzona repair saved customer 2 days of rework and upwards of $20k instead of cutting pillow block off and fabricating new ones.

Application Method

Surface prep was conducted using a pencil grinder and cleaned with Belzona 1911. Afterwards, Belzona 1161 was injected into holes using a mixing board as back stop and touched up after sliding mixing board off. Holes were bored to appropriate size through Belzona 1161 to allow bearings to be installed.
